Introduction
The Old Tonbridgian Society tour of the Western Front was on 9-11 April 2024. The tour was led by OT Society President Sir Anthony Seldon and Vice President David Walsh. Anthony and David co-wrote Public Schools and the Great War: The Generation Lost (2013), and Anthony wrote The Path of Peace (2022) about his walk along the whole length of the Western Front. Both have led many trips to the Western Front since their time together teaching history at Tonbridge and they provided illuminating commentary on all the places we visited and on the Great War more generally.
